Hi there, I’m Becky Maizy and the founder of Queen City Accounting Solutions. We are experts in all things accounting. Literally, all the things. I have been a CPA for over 10 years and have served hundreds of businesses. To be honest, I get really excited when I help someone fix their accounting problem; I feel like a superhero! Seeing their feeling of relief and satisfaction makes me so happy. What I have observed in my years of “fixing things” is that most business owners do not need nor do they want to spend money on a full-time resource dedicated to the accounting function of their business. The owner or an office manager is typically handling invoicing, cash management, and basic account reconciliations but often lack the time or ability needed to add value beyond that. Enter Queen City Accounting Solutions, your go-to accountant!
We can support YOUR skill set in this area and are flexible enough to provide value at any step in the process. If don’t you have the time and ability to create invoices and enter transactional data in Quickbooks, we can work with that. If you don’t know what Quickbooks is, we can work with that too! No matter your company’s specific needs, I am certain that this website and these resources will help you get better control of your finances. I graduated with a masters degree from Appalachian State University and successfully passed the CPA exam. Then spent a total of 7 years in public accounting and three years in the private sector with a large legal services firm. I have genuinely loved growing in this industry and it is a large part of who I am: A numbers girl at heart.

In my public accounting days, I was a tax accountant for a regional firm whose strategy was to “make an impact and be your clients most trusted advisor”. It is also there that I really grew to love the spirit of entrepreneurship and the passionate folks that drive this part of our economy.
In those ten years I have secured hundreds of thousands of dollars for clients by representing them in various tax audits, prepared and reported monthly financial statement packages for corporate officers and lenders, fixed various recordkeeping issues in Quickbooks files, managed payroll reporting for 300+ employees, implemented complex tax strategies for business owners, contributed to creating budgets for large companies, coached bookkeepers on proper accounting disciplines, collaborated with a highly specialized team to implement revenue recognition changes to GAAP (ASC 606), consultedon ERP system conversions, the list goes on.
When I can see and share in the sense of relief a client has after helping them save vital, hard earned dollars or their confidence soars from building a healthy working capital, that is everything to me.
For those that have any interest, I am way more than a numbers girl: I am a wife, a mom, a runner, a yogi, and a road warrior. I love being outside and exploring the mountains of NC. My idea of balance is to work hard and play harder! You will usually find me and my family at the USNWC in Charlotte trail running or listening to live music. My family is everything to me and they truly fill my cup!

In my career I have continuously been driven to help others, starting by earning a masters degree in Psychology. I have since focused on helping people make positive changes in their life to pursue their goals and enjoy life.
I built my website and produce my podcast both centered on helping people hit their goals (the podcast is called Enjoy Life. Check it out!). The experience and knowledge I have gained with my projects helped me build this site and offer technical support for Queen City Accounting Solutions.
